1.  Colgate-Palmolive has announced a planned $1.2 million upgrade of its Cambridge, Ohio-based plant, as demand for liquid hand soap and sanitizers continues to rise amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The personal care giant is said to be earmarking most of the expansion spend for machinery and equipment, with 24 new jobs said to be created by the new project.

2. Hair care brand TRESemmé has launched a new scholarship program that aims to support Black female hair stylists, dedicating $100,000 to the first TRESemmé Future Stylists Fund. The Unilever-owned brand will launch the scholarship at this year’s New York Fashion week, of which it is a sponsor, with ten winners receiving $10,000 for cosmetology school.

3. L’Oréal Paris Elvive has announced that it will deliver bottles that can not only be recycled but will be made from 100 percent recycled plastic also, saving 7000 tonnes of plastic globally every year. The commitment follows research commissioned by the hair care brand that discovered that 32.8 million Brits still struggle with the idea of recycling bathroom products and some three-quarters prioritise effectiveness over sustainability.
